1/ A maximum thickness of 1.5 mils is recommended; higher maximum film thicknesses are
acceptable provided the contractor can prove that paint film adhesion is not jeopardized.
2/ On ferrous metal surfaces, film thickness shall be 0.6 - 0.8 mil.
3/ On wood, film thickness shall be 1.8 - 2.2 mils.
4/ Per each coat of paint. (Excessive paint thickness will compromise adhesion and CARC
requirements.)
