10.1 Scope. This appendix is a mandatory part of the standard. The information contained herein is intended for compliance.

10.2 Application. The mandatory provisions of this appendix are applicable to the

CARC finish treatment of spare parts used on tank-automotive vehicle systems.

30. REQUIREMENTS

30.1 Index drawing. The Index Drawing 12369000 is a listing of available CARC drawings which are used to develop the specific and complete surface treatment and finish notes in the spare part drawing. The CARC drawings contain the requirements for cleaning, pretreating, priming and topcoating various base metals and paint topcoat color for the spare part. Table IX is a sample list of available CARC drawings. For a complete and up-to-date

listing, see Index Drawing 12369000. Copies of the CARC drawings listed in the Index Drawing may be obtained from the contracting officer (see 20.1).
